2022. 147 – 148

147. One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost

This is the next book in this series and in this one they’re hunting down a ghost who torments women. At least I remember the plot of this one. Idk, I just am not that in love with this series. each book feels very separate and like she just came up with each idea separately. Also I feel bad for the author because I can never spell her name correctly.

148. Heartless by Gail Carriger

In this one we prep for the birth of her child and come up with a scheme so that the vampires stop killing her. And then there is a threat on the queen’s life. I enjoyed this book but the plot was kind of all over the place. There was kind of a twist at the end and it felt like it went off the rails but overall I still enjoyed it and am happy with the progression of the series.

Beauty and the Clockwork Prince by Nancy Campbell Allen

Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson

I believe this book was also on that ‘feel-good book list’ from the library. This is a contemporary novel following the life of Major Pettigrew in a small town in England.

This book was so sweet. It’s kind of a love story but it’s so much more than that. It’s about family and community and acceptance. The book deals heavily with racism and anti-immigrant topics. Especially the idea of second-generation immigrants who aren’t really foreigners but people treat them a certain way if that makes sense.
