This it the final book in this series and I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time.

In this book she sets out once again in search of what might be a new kind of dragon skeleton lost in the snow. I’m not sure I can say more than that without giving anything away.

This is the fourth book in this series that I’ve been rereading.

So in this book Lady Trent goes into the desert to try and breed dragons.

I recently learned that Brennan had released another book and I had to go read it.

This is a companion book to the Lady Trent series which I loved. In this book we follow the granddaughter of the previous series. Audrey is asked to translate some historic tablets from Draconian into Eenglish. But what she discovers may change society forever.

This is book four in the Lady Trent series and like the previous books, I loved it.

This book builds a lot off of the previous book (with similar characters as well as the political plots building off of each other). In this book Isabella and Tom are sent into the desert to learn how to breed dragons. Once again we are introduced to a different culture and country although this time it feels like we didn’t actually get to know them that well. Instead, they spend a lof of time with their own military.

So the series has started to feel a bit formulaic. Like she goes on a trip to a new place and studies dragons and then comes home… again. That being said, so far each trip has been very different. On this journey they are on a boat most of the time. Also she brings her son with her (this was probably one of my favorite aspects of her journey – I seem to really enjoy watching her be a mother since she’s so unlike other ‘typical’ mothers).

In this book we follow Isabella on her second expedition to learn about dragons. This time she goes with a famale companion and a man she traveled with before but now they go to the joungle instead of the mountains like last time.

A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir by Lady Trent by Marie Brennan

First off I want to say I LOVED THIS BOOK! Although perhaps it’s really not that remarkable of a book, it is exactly the type of book I love and it feel very much like the type of book I tried to write in middle school (although to compare this book to my writing in middle school is quite an insult).

In this book Lady Trent tells us the story of her early years. Its starts off when she is seven and ends when I want to say she’s 20ish.

How do I explain this?  So basically this is set in a world where there are dragons (and other related dragon like creatures) but they aren’t very well studied (since studying them is often very difficult give that they are super dangerous creatures and don’t tend to survive in captivity). This is also what I would think of as an ‘old fashioned’ society. Think Victorian England when women had to wear dresses and ‘came out’ and looked for husbands etc. Basically, Isabella (who later becomes Lady Trent) is a woman who is fascinated by dragons and natural history which is very unladilike etc.
