Borders Trip pt. 4 // Scotland

CIMG1934aAt long last (after an evening in Edinburgh, a very old house, and a beautiful garden) we reach Melrose Abbey. I don’t really remember the history of this Abbey except that I’m pretty sure some king got really mad and tore it down. Also some terrible things probably happened here but when we saw it, it was just so beautiful that I can’t seem to narrow down my pictures any further so you get a bunch of them.

It really was an absolutely stunning place and even though the weather was awful (I mean, what would you expect) it meant that pictures turned out really well. Sorry for this kind of rushed post. I hope you enjoyed all the pictures. It really was a very beautiful place and fed my love of old ruins.

This is not even the last stop on this day long adventure so prepare yourself for more to come.

Hello and welcome to the last post on this weekend. Make sure you check out Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 from this weekend. If you recall, in the morning I went for a walk into the town and saw some standing stones. On the afternoon I actually ended up going back to the standing stones with a guide person who wanted to tell us lots of history (which I have conveniently all forgotten) and then we went to this really old building (which again, don’t remember why it was important) which I climbed around on (despite the warning sign) and ignored whatever the guide was saying. Is that terrible? Maybe. I just wanted to explore this cool building and I got some ok pictures so here they are. Continue reading “Firbish Activity Weekend Part 4 // Scotland”

Firbish Activity Weekend Part 1 // Scotland

CIMG2494aFor some reason, the Scottish school system gave us a week off at the end of February. Fortunately for me this included my birthday. Some of my flatmates did all sorts of crazy cool things (namely traveled to many different countries) but I decided to just take a weekend trip away that the program I went abroad with had organized. We went up to a camp near the highlands and it was super beautiful so here are some pictures. Continue reading “Firbish Activity Weekend Part 1 // Scotland”
