The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There by Catherynne M Valente
In this book September returns to Fairyland and learns that her shadow has caused all sorts of trouble.
This story takes place mostly under Fairyland where the shadows now live. They are ‘free’ from their constraints and able to live separately and do their own thing. Yet this is not the way the world is supposed to work and everything about Fairyland is becoming… unFairylandish.
Although I enjoyed this book, at times I kinda just skimmed it. Like it felt like there were a bunch of unnecessary words. Again the story was clever and unique and absurd yet somehow also very logical and clear.
In this book we definitely dealt more with the way the real world and the fairy world interact with each other which was kind of interesting.
I don’t have strong opinions right now but I did enjoy this book although like I said I kind of skimmed parts of it. But seriously, September is awesome. As a person she’s so incredibly strong and the narrator is quite interesting and insightful.
I haven’t decided if I’m going to continue this series or not. I want to say there are like five books or something.
