I don’t really know how to explain this book. It’s set in an alternate (parallel?) universe where people clone dodo birds for pets and time vortex(es)- what’s the plural of vortex? vorti?- appear randomly. We follow our main character Thursday Next who is a (for lack of a better word) secret agent dealing with literary crimes. After a very important book is stolen, she learns of a criminal mastermind set on destroying everyone’s favorite stories. I mean, are you hooked yet?! I didn’t like this book. It’s well written, the characters are complex, and the plot is well thought out with an ending that made sense. None of that changed the fact that this is a post apocalyptic zombie book. How in the world did I end up reading one of those?!? No wonder I didn’t like it. Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid

I started this book (rather hesitantly) thinking that it was a teen romance (which it is) but it’s also so much more. We basically get four short stories which are all connected. The first three stories are about people who meet Leila, a girl driving up to see the northern lights, and then the fourth story is Leila’s. Each of the stories is kind of it’s own love story but they are all very different and aren’t always about romantic love.
